Ghelamco chose the site of the old textile mill “Filature du Rabot” for the Tribeca project, which draws direct inspiration from Tribeca in New York. CIT Blaton did the construction of 78 apartments covering a total of 12,500 m², plus 6,000 m² of underground car parks. The ground floor is composed of shops covering an equivalent floor space.
All the prefabricated concrete structures come from our workshops in Leeuw-Saint-Pierre: 120 5-tonne balconies are then assembled on to the different façades on the passageway. One of the difficulties of this project is the absence of storage space. The materials are consequently delivered virtually just-in-time. As the building is 132 metres long, the concreting is organised in 3 phases so as to use the concreted area as storage space once it has dried.
