More specifically, the new Brussels/Ixelles Police Training Centre features 700 m² of kennels designed to accommodate 50 dogs and is equipped with facilities to instruct, maintain and train the canine unit. A brand-new shooting range with15 firing lanes has also been built : five are used for short-range shooting exercises (30 m) allowing trainees to practice at 180°; and ten are used for long-range shooting exercises (50 m). Two dojo-type training rooms to teach the various self-defence techniques are also included in the layout. A 1,400 m² training hall for police enforcement techniques and an 800 m² outdoor field for Molotov cocktail protection training has also been provided.
