Demolition and reconstruction of a nursing home
The new nursing home has 87 beds in 74 rooms. The original surface area has been increased to nearly 5,000 m². Other work has been done on the building’s special technical equipment (lifts, HVAC, access control and automation), finishing and surroundings. At project level, the entire GO was modified by CIT Blaton (concept + study) which proposed a building consisting of prefabricated wall cores and sand-lime façade panels. The project encountered several technical challenges: the building is located at the heart of a block of houses which allowed very little room to carry out the work. Several different techniques were used and combined for work on neighbouring foundations: consolidation and Berliner walls.
