This new STIB depot extends underground over more than 700 metres, allowing the storage and maintenance of 23 underground trains. More than 400,000 m³ of earth were excavated to create this underground depot below Boulevard Simonet. The maintenance facility includes all the necessary installations to service seven trains, in particular working pits running under the entire length of a train, a section fitted with lifting jacks, two walkways and a metro wash plant. Both the administrative offices and training centre are housed in the depot's above-ground level. A 1.2 km test track is being laid next to the new depot and along the SNCB railway line.
