This new building has increased the accommodation capacity of the current Jules Bordet Institute, from 160 to 250 hospital beds, and from 13 to 40 outpatient beds, thus reaching the European level in this respect. The new Institute is organised on 9 levels, including a small technical area on + 7. It includes a fully underground level used mainly for parking, various rooms and the staff cloakroom, and a partially underground level, owing to the site's slope of the site. The new Institute coversa total gross floor area (outside the walls) of some 80,600 m².
