CHwapi
Construction of a hospital
The Centre Hospitalier de Wallonie picarde (CHwapi) project brings together all the general hospital beds in the Tournai region on a single site.
The hospital is made up of a base of three floors and 2 highly modular prisms, allowing rapid adaptation if necessary. Designed in the form of a three-storey atrium, the medical and public base includes the hospital's general reception and commercial and catering areas.
Outpatient services are organised around gardens and patios. The 2 prisms above this base accommodate 708 beds for standard hospitalisation and 140 beds for day hospitalisation.
The hospital's forecourt is laid out as a vast esplanade to welcome the public.
