CIT Blaton receives the CO²-Prestatieladder
In September 2023, BCCA CIT Blaton awarded the level 3 vof the CO²-Prestatieladder.
The CO²-Prestatieladder is the sustainability tool that helps companies and governments to reduce CO² and costs, in business operations, in projects and in the chain.
The CO²-Prestatieladder is a CO² management system that consists of 5 levels. Up to and including level 3, an organization works with the emissions of its own organization (and all projects). A certified organization meets the requirements of the CO² Performance Ladder that arise from four perspectives:
- Insight: Determining energy flows and CO2 footprint
- Reduction: developing ambitious targets for CO2 reduction
- Transparency: Structural communication on CO2 policy
- Participation: Participation in co2 reduction initiatives in the sector
Each certified organization is audited annually by an independent and accredited Certification Body. CIT Blaton is powered by CO²Logic.
To achieve the 3rd level of certification, CIT Blaton has therefore assessed its carbon equivalent footprint based on its data for 2021 with a clear target of a 46% reduction by 2030.
Mapping our CO² emissions (year 2021):
- 33.8% - cars
- 44.3% - Diesel construction
- 17% - Electricity construction sites + seat
- 5% - heating
Towards continuous energy improvement
CIT Blaton has identified 3 development areas to reduce its carbon footprint by 2030.
- Increase in the number of photovoltaic parks
- Use of green energy through its suppliers
- Electrification of the fleet made available to professionals.
Environmental responsibility taken
The CO² Performance Ladder is part of a series of measures that have been in place for more than 15 years. CIT Blaton has put the environment at the heart of its development strategy. The class 8 family business, already ISO 9001, 45001 14001 certified, elected ecodynamic company level 3 and holder of the Embuild.brussels Build Circular label, positions itself as a pioneer in the construction sector and as a player in the world of tomorrow.
