Certifications

In each of its projects, CIT Blaton builds sustainable structures for its customers, while applying the standards in force in its processes.

ISO 9001 Quality standard: aims for customer satisfaction from the offer all the way to acceptance.

ISO 45001 & VCAp Safety standards: this demonstrates that the health and safety of our people are prioritised on site.

ISO 14001 Environment standard: implementation of environmental management for company processes in order to reduce nuisances.

EcoVadis Certification “Committed Company”

CIT Blaton has obtained the EcoVadis “Committed Company” badge. This recognition is awarded to organizations that achieve a CSR performance score of at least 45/100 and have a structured management system in place.

This international recognition confirms the strength of our approach in the areas of environment, labour conditions and human rights, business ethics, and responsible procurement. It also highlights our ambition to continuously improve and contribute to a more sustainable construction model.

First passive building in Brussels

The construction of the first passive office building in Brussels, in this case for its own head office, has given CIT Blaton a pioneering role in environmental matters.

BREEAM Advisory Professional certification

Ever since 2023, CIT Blaton has been one of the only Belgian construction companies with an in-house expert who is officially certified as a BREEAM Advisory Professional – Design & Site. His role is to provide advice and set priorities in order to achieve sustainability goals across all phases of a project.

In September 2023, BCCA awarded CIT Blaton the CO² Performance Ladder Level 3 certificate.

The CO² Performance Ladder is the sustainability tool that helps businesses and governments reduce CO² and costs in business operations, projects and the supply chain.

CO² emissions (scopes 1 & 2) related to CIT Blaton’s operations amounted to 4,084 tonnes in the reference year 2021.

An indicator based on turnover is calculated and amounts to 13.42 tonnes of CO² per million euros of turnover for the reference year.

CIT Blaton pledges to reduce this figure by 46% by 2030.

An action plan is implemented to achieve this ambitious goal.

The best results in reducing emissions stem from the following actions:

  • Switch to a 100% electric vehicle fleet by 2030
  • Purchase of Belgian green electricity
  • Steps taken to minimise the use of generators
  • Expansion of photovoltaic solar power generation capacity
